40 He poureth [b]contempt upon princes, and causeth them to err in desert places out of the way.

41 Yet he raiseth up the poor out of misery, and maketh him families like a flock of sheep.

39 Then their numbers decreased,(A) and they were humbled(B)
    by oppression, calamity and sorrow;
40 he who pours contempt on nobles(C)
    made them wander in a trackless waste.(D)
41 But he lifted the needy(E) out of their affliction
    and increased their families like flocks.(F)
