7 O Lord God the strength of my salvation, thou [a]hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8 Let not the wicked have his desire, O Lord; [b]perform not his wicked thought, lest they be proud. Selah.
9 As for [c]the chief of them that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips come upon them.

7 Sovereign Lord,(A) my strong deliverer,
you shield my head in the day of battle.
8 Do not grant the wicked(B) their desires, Lord;
do not let their plans succeed.
9 Those who surround me proudly rear their heads;
