Psalm 143:6-8
Contemporary English Version

6 Then I lift my hands in prayer,
because my soul is a desert,
    thirsty for water from you.

7 Please hurry, Lord,
and answer my prayer.
    I feel hopeless.
Don't turn away
    and leave me here to die.
8 Each morning let me learn
more about your love
    because I trust you.
I come to you in prayer,
    asking for your guidance.

    I thirst for you like a parched land.[a]

7 Answer me quickly,(B) Lord;
    my spirit fails.(C)
Do not hide your face(D) from me
    or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,(E)
    for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way(F) I should go,
    for to you I entrust my life.(G)
