⁵I lie down and sleep;^(A)
I wake again,^(B) because the Lord sustains me.

⁸In peace^(A) I will lie down and sleep,^(B)
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.^(C)

when you lie down, your sleep^(C) will be sweet.
