New American Standard Bible

6 Let their way be dark and (A)slippery,
With the angel of the Lord pursuing them.
7 For (B)they (C)hid their net for me without cause;
Without cause they dug a pit for my soul.
8 Let (D)destruction come upon him when he is unaware,
And (E)let the net which he hid catch him;
Let him fall into that very (F)destruction.

6 may their path be dark and slippery,
    with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.

7 Since they hid their net(A) for me without cause(B)
    and without cause dug a pit(C) for me,
8 may ruin overtake them by surprise—(D)
    may the net they hid entangle them,
    may they fall into the pit,(E) to their ruin.
