2 He brought me up out of the (A)pit of destruction, out of the [a]miry clay,
And (B)He set my feet upon a rock (C)making my footsteps firm.
3 He put a (D)new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will (E)see and fear
And will trust in the Lord.

4 How (F)blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust,
And (G)has not [b]turned to the proud, nor to those who (H)lapse into falsehood.

2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,(A)
    out of the mud(B) and mire;(C)
he set my feet(D) on a rock(E)
    and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song(F) in my mouth,
    a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord(G)
    and put their trust(H) in him.

4 Blessed is the one(I)
    who trusts in the Lord,(J)
who does not look to the proud,(K)
    to those who turn aside to false gods.[a](L)
