2 you with your own hand (A)drove out the nations,
but (B)them you planted;
you afflicted the peoples,
but (C)them you set free;
3 for not (D)by their own sword did they win the land,
nor did their own arm save them,
but your right hand and your arm,
and (E)the light of your face,
(F)for you delighted in them.

3 It was not by their sword(E) that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them victory;
