5 (A)That your (B)beloved ones may be delivered,
give salvation by your right hand and answer us!
6 God has spoken (C)in his holiness:[a]
“With exultation (D)I will divide up (E)Shechem
and portion out the Vale of (F)Succoth.
7 (G)Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine;
(H)Ephraim is (I)my helmet;
Judah is my (J)sceptre.
8 (K)Moab is my washbasin;
upon Edom I (L)cast my shoe;
over (M)Philistia I shout in triumph.”[b]
9 Who will bring me to the fortified city?
(N)Who will lead me to Edom?
10 Have you not (O)rejected us, O God?
You (P)do not go forth, O God, with our armies.
11 Oh, grant us help against the foe,
for (Q)vain is the salvation of man!
12 With God we shall (R)do valiantly;
it is he who will (S)tread down our foes.

6 God has spoken from his sanctuary:
“In triumph I will parcel out Shechem(C)
and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.(D)
7 Gilead(E) is mine, and Manasseh is mine;
Ephraim(F) is my helmet,
Judah(G) is my scepter.(H)
8 Moab is my washbasin,
on Edom I toss my sandal;
over Philistia I shout in triumph.(I)”
9 Who will bring me to the fortified city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
10 Is it not you, God, you who have now rejected us
and no longer go out with our armies?(J)
11 Give us aid against the enemy,
for human help is worthless.(K)
12 With God we will gain the victory,
and he will trample down our enemies.(L)
