For the righteous God ^(C)tries the hearts and ^[a]minds.

⁵ The Lord ^(A)tests the righteous and ^(B)the wicked,
And the one who loves violence His soul hates.

^23 (A)Search me, O God, and know my heart;
^(B)Try me and know my anxious thoughts;

¹⁰ “I, the Lord, ^(A)search the heart,
I test the ^[a]mind,
Even ^(B)to give to each man according to his ways,
According to the ^[b]results of his deeds.
