⁹ Bring to an end the violence of the wicked
    and make the righteous secure—^(A)
you, the righteous God^(B)
    who probes minds and hearts.^(C)

⁵ The Lord examines the righteous,^(A)
    but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.^(B)

³ Though you probe my heart,^(A)
    though you examine me at night and test me,^(B)
you will find that I have planned no evil;^(C)
    my mouth has not transgressed.^(D)

²³ Search me,^(A) God, and know my heart;^(B)
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
