⁸ They ^(A)mock and ^[a]wickedly speak of oppression;
They ^(B)speak from on high.

³ For the ^(A)scepter of wickedness will not rest upon the ^[a]land of the righteous,
So that the righteous ^(B)will not extend their hands to do wrong.

⁶ Their webs will not become clothing,
Nor will they ^(A)cover themselves with their works;
Their ^(B)works are works of wrongdoing,
And an ^(C)act of violence is in their ^[a]hands.
^7 (D)Their feet run to evil,
And they hurry to shed innocent blood;
^(E)Their thoughts are thoughts of wrongdoing,
Devastation and destruction are in their paths.
⁸ They do not know the ^(F)way of peace,
And there is ^(G)no justice in their tracks;
They have made their paths crooked,
^(H)Whoever walks on ^[b]them does not know peace.
