Psalm 78:38-40

New King James Version

³⁸^(A)But He, being full of ^(B)compassion, forgave their iniquity,
And did not destroy them.
Yes, many a time ^(C)He turned His anger away,
And ^(D)did not stir up all His wrath;
³⁹For ^(E)He remembered ^(F)that they were but flesh,
^(G)A breath that passes away and does not come again.

⁴⁰How often they ^(H)provoked^[a] Him in the wilderness,
And grieved Him in the desert!
