54 So (A)He brought them to His holy [a]land,
To this [b](B)hill country (C)which His right hand had gained.
55 He also (D)drove out the nations before them
And (E)apportioned them for an inheritance by measurement,
And made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.
56 Yet they [c](F)tempted and (G)rebelled against the Most High God
And did not keep His testimonies,

and allotted their lands to them as an inheritance;(C)
he settled the tribes of Israel in their homes.
56 But they put God to the test
and rebelled against the Most High;
they did not keep his statutes.
