Psalm 78:6-8

6 That the [a]posterity might know it, and the children, which should be born, should stand up, and declare it to their children.
7 That they might [b]set their hope on God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
8 And not to be as their [c]fathers, a disobedient and rebellious generation: a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful unto God.

New International Version
6 so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,(A)
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget(B) his deeds
but would keep his commands.(C)
8 They would not be like their ancestors(D)—
a stubborn(E) and rebellious(F) generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.
