¹⁴ I would soon subdue their enemies
    and ^(A)turn my hand against their foes.

⁸ I will cut off the inhabitants from ^(A)Ashdod,
    and him who holds the sceptre from Ashkelon;
I will turn my hand against Ekron,
    and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”
says the Lord God.

²⁵ Therefore ^(A)the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people,
    and he stretched out his hand against them and struck them,
    and ^(B)the mountains quaked;
and their corpses were ^(C)as refuse
    in the midst of the streets.
^(D)For all this his anger has not turned away,
    and his hand is stretched out still.
