11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom thou [a]chastisest, O Lord, and teachest him in thy Law,

13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, while the pit is dug for the wicked.

12 Blessed is the one you discipline,(C) Lord,
    the one you teach(D) from your law;
13 you grant them relief from days of trouble,(E)
    till a pit(F) is dug for the wicked.
