² and saying, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near!”^(A)

¹⁷ From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven^(A) has come near!”

⁴² Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, “My Father, if this^[a] cannot pass^[b] unless I drink it, Your will be done.”^(A)

⁴² “Father, if You are willing, take this cup^(A) away from Me—nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.”

¹⁴ Since he would not be persuaded, we stopped talking and simply said, “The Lord’s will be done!”^(A)
