³ He will sit ^(A)as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring ^(B)offerings in righteousness to the Lord.^[a]

⁷ so that ^(A)the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes ^(B)though it is tested by ^(C)fire—may be found to result in ^(D)praise and glory and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ I counsel you ^(A)to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and ^(B)white garments so that you may clothe yourself and ^(C)the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, ^(D)so that you may see.

^12 (A)Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive ^(B)the crown of life, ^(C)which God has promised to those who love him.
