⁷ Will the Lord ^(A)reject forever?
And will He ^(B)never be favorable again?

¹⁴ For ^(A)the Lord will not abandon His people,
Nor will He ^(B)abandon His inheritance.

⁷ “^[a]For a ^(A)brief moment I abandoned you,
But with great compassion I will ^(B)gather you.
⁸ In an ^[b](C)outburst of anger
I hid My face from you for a moment,
But with everlasting ^(D)favor I will ^(E)have compassion on you,”
Says the Lord your ^(F)Redeemer.

⁹ “For ^[c]this is like the days of Noah to Me,
When I swore that the waters of Noah
Would ^(G)not ^[d]flood the earth again;
So I have sworn that I will ^(H)not be angry with you
Nor rebuke you.
¹⁰ For the ^(I)mountains may be removed and the hills may shake,
But My ^[e]favor will not be removed from you,
Nor will My ^(J)covenant of peace be shaken,”
Says ^(K)the Lord who has compassion on you.
