5 And the beast was given the power of speech, uttering boastful and blasphemous words, and he was given freedom to exert his authority and to exercise his will during forty-two months (three and a half years).(A)
6 And he opened his mouth to speak slanders against God, blaspheming His name and His abode, [even vilifying] those who live in heaven.
7 He was further permitted to wage war on God’s holy people (the saints) and to overcome them. And power was given him to extend his authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation,(B)

5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies(A) and to exercise its authority for forty-two months.(B) 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.(C) 7 It was given power to wage war(D) against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.(E)
