14 Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access[a] to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers[b] and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood![c]
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star!”[d]

14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes,(A) that they may have the right to the tree of life(B) and may go through the gates(C) into the city.(D) 15 Outside(E) are the dogs,(F) those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
16 “I, Jesus,(G) have sent my angel(H) to give you[a] this testimony for the churches.(I) I am the Root(J) and the Offspring of David,(K) and the bright Morning Star.”(L)
