¹² “The one who conquers I will make a pillar^(A) in the temple of my God, and he will never go out again. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God—the new Jerusalem,^(B) which comes down out of heaven from my God—and my new name.^(C)

The Two Witnesses

11 Then I was given a measuring reed^(A) like a rod,^[a] with these words: “Go^[b] and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count those who worship there.

² But exclude the courtyard outside the temple.^(A) Don’t measure it, because it is given to the nations,^[a](B) and they will trample the holy city^(C) for forty-two months.^(D)

¹⁹ Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant^[a] appeared in his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder,^(A) an earthquake,^[b] and severe hail.

¹⁵ Another angel came out of the temple, crying out in a loud voice to the one who was seated on the cloud, “Use your sickle and reap, for the time to reap has come, since the harvest of the earth is ripe.”^(A)

¹⁷ Then another angel who also had a sharp sickle came out of the temple in heaven.

⁵ After this I looked, and the heavenly temple—the tabernacle of testimony^(A)—was opened.^{(B) 6} Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues, dressed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes wrapped around their chests.

⁸ Then the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power,^(A) and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

The First Bowl

16 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels,^(A) “Go and pour out the seven^[a] bowls^(B) of God’s wrath on the earth.”

The Seventh Bowl

¹⁷ Then the seventh^[a] poured out his bowl into the air,^[b] and a loud voice came out of the temple^[c](A) from the throne, saying, “It is done!”
