And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and to read the scroll, neither to look on it.

And one of the elders said to me, Weep not! Behold, a lion being of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And I looked, and lo, in the midst of the seat and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though he had been killed, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the spirits of God sent into all the world.

I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion(A) of the tribe of Judah,(B) the Root of David,(C) has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Then I saw a Lamb,(D) looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures(E) and the elders.(F) The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes,(G) which are the seven spirits[a](H) of God sent out into all the earth.
