Romans 11:17-19
Disciples’ Literal New Testament
17 Now if some of the branches were broken-off [a] and you[b], being a wild-olive-tree, were grafted-in among them and became a co-partner[c] of the root, of the fatness[d] of the olive tree, 18 do not be vaunting[e] over the branches. But if you vaunt, [remember] you are not carrying the root, but the root you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off in order that I might be grafted-in”.

New International Version
17 If some of the branches have been broken off,(A) and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others(B) and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.(C) 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”
