9 And David says [in Ps 69:22-23], “Let their table become a snare and a trap and a cause-of-falling and a retribution to them. 10 Let their eyes be darkened that they may not see. And bend[a] their back continually”.
And Israel Did Not Stumble So As To Fall
11 Therefore I say, they did not stumble in order that they might fall[b], did they? May it never be! On-the-contrary, by their trespass[c] salvation came to the Gentiles, so as to provoke them to jealousy.

9 And David says:
“May their table become a snare and a trap,
a stumbling block and a retribution for them.
10 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see,(A)
and their backs be bent forever.”[a](B)

11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all!(C) Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles(D) to make Israel envious.(E)
