Romans 12:17-19

Good News Translation

¹⁷If someone has done you wrong, do not repay him with a wrong. Try to do what everyone considers to be good. ¹⁸Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody. ¹⁹^(A)Never take revenge, my friends, but instead let God's anger do it. For the scripture says, “I will take revenge, I will pay back, says the Lord.”

¹⁷Do not repay anyone evil for evil.^(A) Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.^(B) ¹⁸If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.^(C) ¹⁹Do not take revenge,^(D) my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”^[a]^(E) says the Lord.
