⁵ so in Christ we, though many, form one body,^(A) and each member belongs to all the others. ⁶ We have different gifts,^(B) according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying,^(C) then prophesy in accordance with your^[a] faith;^{(D) 7} if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;^{(E) 8} if it is to encourage, then give encouragement;^(F) if it is giving, then give generously;^(G) if it is to lead,^[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

⁵ What, after all, is Apollos?^(A) And what is Paul? Only servants,^(B) through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task.

⁶ I planted the seed,^(A) Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.

⁷ For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive?^(A) And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

⁴ And no one takes this honor on himself, but he receives it when called by God, just as Aaron was.^(A)

¹⁷ Every good and perfect gift is from above,^(A) coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,^(B) who does not change^(C) like shifting shadows.

¹⁰ Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,^(A) as faithful^(B) stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

¹¹ If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.^(A) If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides,^(B) so that in all things God may be praised^(C) through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.^(D)
