Christ came to help the Jews. This proved that God had told the truth to their early fathers. This proved that God would do what He promised. This was done so the people who are not Jews can thank God for His loving-kindness. The Holy Writings say, “This is why I will give thanks to you among the people who are not Jews. I will sing to Your name.” (A) 10 It says also, “You who are not Jews, be happy with His people, the Jews.” (B)

For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews[a](A) on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises(B) made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles(C) might glorify God(D) for his mercy. As it is written:

“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
    I will sing the praises of your name.”[b](E)

10 Again, it says,

“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”[c](F)
