¹⁸Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, ^[a]So shall thy seed be. ¹⁹And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body ^[b]now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s ^[c]womb; ²⁰yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God,

¹⁸Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations,^(A) just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”^[a]^(B) ¹⁹Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead^(C)—since he was about a hundred years old^(D)—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.^(E) ²⁰Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened^(F) in his faith and gave glory to God,^(G)
