Romans 5:10-12 Lexham English Bible (LEB)

10 For if, while we[a] were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, by much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved by his life. 11 And not only this, but also we are boasting in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Death Came through Adam but Life Comes through Christ

12 Because of this, just as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death spread to all people because all sinned.

Footnotes:

  1. Romans 5:10 Here “while” is supplied as a component of the participle (“were”) which is understood as temporal

Romans 5:10-12 New International Version (NIV)

10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ

12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned
