8 But sin grabbed its opportunity through the commandment, and produced all kinds of covetousness within me.
Apart from the law, sin is dead. 9 I was once alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life 10 and I died. The commandment which pointed to life turned out, in my case, to bring death.

8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment,(A) produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead.(B) 9 Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. 10 I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life(C) actually brought death.
