3 For what the law could not do, inasmuch as it was weak because of the flesh, God has performed. He sent his Son in the similitude of sinful flesh, and by a sin offering punished sin in the flesh, 4 so that the righteousness required by the law may be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. 5 For those who are fleshly are fleshly minded, but those who are spiritual are spiritually minded.

3 For what the law was powerless(A) to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[a](B) God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh(C) to be a sin offering.[b](D) And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement(E) of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.(F)
5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires;(G) but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.(H)
