Romans 8:7-9

7 People who think about the things of this life are God's enemies. They do not obey God's law. They cannot obey it.
8 People who do what their bodies want cannot please God.
9 Does God's Spirit live in you? If he does, then you are not living the way the body wants, but you are living the way the Spirit wants. If anyone does not have Christ's Spirit, he does not belong to Christ.

New International Version
7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God;(A) it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh(B) cannot please God.
9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh(C) but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.(D) And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,(E) they do not belong to Christ.
