Noah

^17 (A)Noah was a perfectly righteous man. After destruction came, he gave the human race a new start.^[a] Because of him there were people left on earth when the flood was over. ¹⁸ The Lord made an eternal covenant with him, promising that life would never again be destroyed by a flood.

^5 (A)God did not spare the ancient world, but brought the flood on the world of godless people; the only ones he saved were Noah, who preached righteousness, and seven other people.
