³⁽⁴⁾Hashem, Thou hast brought up my nefesh from Sheol; Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

⁴⁽⁵⁾Sing unto Hashem, O ye chasidim of His, and give thanks to His Zekher Kodesh.

⁵⁽⁶⁾For His anger endureth but a rega; in His favor is Chayyim; weeping may endure for an erev, but joy cometh in the boker.

³You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;^(A)
you spared me from going down to the pit.^(B)

⁴Sing^(C) the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;^(D)
    praise his holy name.^(E)
⁵For his anger^(F) lasts only a moment,^(G)
    but his favor lasts a lifetime;^(H)
weeping^(I) may stay for the night,
    but rejoicing comes in the morning.^(J)
