6 (7) Trembling took hold upon them sham (there), and pain, as of a woman in labor.

7 (8) Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8 (9) As we have heard, so have we seen in the Ir Hashem Tzvaos, in the Ir Eloheinu; Elohim will establish it ad olam. Selah.

6 Trembling seized(A) them there,
    pain like that of a woman in labor.(B)
7 You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish(C)
    shattered by an east wind.(D)

8 As we have heard,
    so we have seen
in the city of the Lord Almighty,
    in the city of our God:
God makes her secure
    forever.[a](E)
