15 Everything is pure to people who are pure. But if people are defiled or faithless, nothing is pure for them; even their mind and conscience are defiled. 16 They declare that they know God, but they deny him by what they do. They are detestable and disobedient, and useless for any good work.

New International Version
15 To the pure, all things are pure,(A) but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure.(B) In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.(C) 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him.(D) They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.(E)
