⁹ holding fast to the true message as taught so that he will be able both to exhort with sound doctrine and to refute opponents.^(A)

¹³ That testimony is true. Therefore, admonish them sharply, so that they may be sound in the faith,^(A)

⁸ and sound speech that cannot be criticized, so that the opponent will be put to shame without anything bad to say about us.

¹⁰ the unchaste, sodomites,^[a] kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is opposed to sound teaching,^(A)

³ Whoever teaches something different and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the religious teaching^(A)

¹³ Take as your norm the sound words that you heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.^(A)

³ For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity,^[a] will accumulate teachers^(A)
