20 The root of wisdom is fear of the Lord,
and her branches bring forth long life.
[21 The fear of the Lord takes away sin,
and he who perseveres turns away all anger.][a]
Wisdom Teaches Patience[b]
22 Unjustified anger can never be excused;
anger will be the cause of a man’s downfall.
