¹⁰ And the ^(A)axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore ^(B)every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

¹¹ “As for me, ^(C)I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; ^(D)He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. ¹² His ^(E)winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will ^(F)gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the ^(G)chaff with ^(H)unquenchable fire.”

^13 (A)each man’s work will become evident, for ^(B)the day will indicate it because it is revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test ^[a]the quality of each man’s work. ¹⁴ If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will ^(C)receive a reward. ¹⁵ If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, yet ^(D)so as through fire.
