And he said to David, “Thou art more righteous than I; for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I; for thou hast rendered unto me good, whereas I have rendered unto thee evil.
He said to David, “You are more righteous and upright [in God’s eyes] than I; for you have done good to me, but I have done evil to you.
He said to David, You are more upright in God’s eyes than I, for you have repaid me good, but I have rewarded you evil.
And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
and said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have done what is good to me though I have done what is evil to you.
telling David, “You are more righteous than I am because you have treated me generously, but I have treated you terribly.
After David had finished speaking to Sha’ul, Sha’ul said, “Is that your voice, my son David?” Then Sha’ul cried out and wept;
and said: David, you're a better person than I am. You treated me with kindness, even though I've been cruel to you.
And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I; for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
And when David had made an end of speaking these words to Saul, Saul said: Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
He said, “You are right, and I am wrong. You were good to me, even though I have been bad to you.
He said to David, ‘You are a better man than I am. You have been kind to me even when I have tried to hurt you.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have treated me well, but I have treated you badly.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
He said, “You are ·a better man [more righteous] than I am. You have ·been good [behaved well; L repaid good] to me, but I have ·done wrong [behaved badly; L repaid evil] to you.
When David had made an end of speaking these words to Saul, Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son David? and Saul lift up his voice, and wept,
He told David, “You are more righteous than I. You treated me well while I treated you badly.
Then he said to David, “You are right, and I am wrong. You have been so good to me, while I have done such wrong to you!
and said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have done what is good to me though I have done what is evil to you.
He said, “You are right, and I am wrong. You have been good to me. But I have done wrong to you.
to David, “You are more righteous than I am, because you have treated me well even though I’ve treated you poorly.
And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I, for thou hast repaid me with good, whereas I have repaid thee with evil.
And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
And he said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have dealt well with me, while I have dealt evil with you.
Then he said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have repaid me the good, but I have repaid you the evil.
And he said to David, “You are a better man than I am, for you have repaid me good for evil.
When David had finished saying all this, Saul said, “Can this be the voice of my son David?” and he wept in loud sobs. “You’re the one in the right, not me,” he continued. “You’ve heaped good on me; I’ve dumped evil on you. And now you’ve done it again—treated me generously. God put me in your hands and you didn’t kill me. Why? When a man meets his enemy, does he send him down the road with a blessing? May God give you a bonus of blessings for what you’ve done for me today! I know now beyond doubt that you will rule as king. The kingdom of Israel is already in your grasp! Now promise me under God that you will not kill off my family or wipe my name off the books.”
And he said to David, “You are more righteous than I. For you have rewarded me with good, while I have rewarded you with evil.
He told David, “You are more righteous than I. You treated me well while I treated you badly.
When David finished saying these things to Saul, Saul answered, “Is that your voice, my son David?” And he wept freely.
And he said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have dealt well with me, while I have dealt maliciously with you.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have dealt well with me, while I have dealt wickedly with you.
When David had finished saying these things to Saul, Saul said, “Is that your voice, my son, David?” And Saul cried out and wept.
He said, “You are a better man than I am. You have been good to me, but I have done wrong to you.
He said to David, “You are more innocent than I, for you have treated me well, even though I have tried to harm you.
“You are a better person than I am,” he said. “You have treated me well. But I’ve treated you badly.
“You are more righteous than I,” he said. “You have treated me well, but I have treated you badly.
‘You are more righteous than I,’ he said. ‘You have treated me well, but I have treated you badly.
Then he said to David: “You are more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil.
He said to David, “You are more right and good than I. For you have brought good to me, while I have done wrong to you.
And he said to David, “You are a better man than I am, for you have repaid me good for evil.
He said to David, ‘You are more righteous than I; for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
He said to David, ‘You are more righteous than I; for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
And he said to Dovid, Thou art more tzaddik than I; for thou hast rewarded me tovah, whereas I have rewarded thee ra’ah.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
Then he said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have done good to me, while I have done evil to you.
It’s true that you are more righteous than I am—you have repaid me with good when I handed you only evil.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have done good to me, whereas I have done evil to you.
And he said to David, Thou art more just than I; for thou gavest good things to me; but I have yielded evils to thee. (And he said to David, Thou art more in the right than I; for thou gavest good to me; but I yielded only evil to thee.)
And he saith unto David, `More righteous thou [art] than I; for thou hast done me good, and I have done thee evil;
