Now Samuel was ministering before the Lord, as a child dressed in a linen ephod [a sacred item of priestly clothing].
But Samuel ministered before the Lord, a child girded with a linen ephod.
¶ But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
Samuel served in the Lord’s presence—this mere boy was dressed in the linen ephod.
Now Samuel was serving the Lord. He was a young boy, clothed in a linen priestly vest.
But Sh’mu’el ministered in the presence of Adonai, wearing a linen ritual vest even though he was only a child.
The boy Samuel served the Lord and wore a special linen garment
And Samuel ministered before Jehovah, a boy girded with a linen ephod.
But Samuel ministered before the face of the Lord: being a child girded with a linen ephod.
But Samuel served the Lord. He was a helper who wore the linen ephod.
But Samuel served the Lord faithfully, as a young boy. He wore a linen ephod.
But Samuel ministered before the Lord while he was still a young boy, dressed in a special vest made of linen.
Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy clothed with a linen ephod.
Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy clothed with a linen ephod.
But Samuel ·obeyed [L served; ministered before] the Lord. As a boy he wore a linen ·holy vest [ephod; C a special garment worn only by priests; Ex. 28:6–14].
¶ Now Samuel being a young child ministered before the Lord, girded with a linen Ephod.
Meanwhile, Samuel continued to serve in front of the Lord. As a boy he was ⌞already⌟ wearing a linen ephod.
In the meantime the boy Samuel continued to serve the Lord, wearing a sacred linen apron.
The boy Samuel served in the Lord’s presence and wore a linen ephod.
But Samuel obeyed the Lord. He wore a linen holy vest.
Now Samuel was ministering in the Lord’s presence, as a boy wearing a linen ephod.
But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

Now Samuel was ministering before Yahweh, as a young boy girded with a linen ephod.
Now Samuel was serving before Yahweh, as a boy wearing a linen ephod.
Samuel, though only a child, was the Lord’s helper and wore a little linen robe just like the priest’s.
In the midst of all this, Samuel, a boy dressed in a priestly linen tunic, served God. Additionally, every year his mother would make him a little robe cut to his size and bring it to him when she and her husband came for the annual sacrifice. Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, “God give you children to replace this child you have dedicated to God.” Then they would go home.
But Samuel ministered before the Lord, as a boy, wearing a linen ephod.
Meanwhile, Samuel continued to serve in front of Yahweh. As a boy he was already wearing a linen ephod.
Meanwhile the boy Samuel, wearing a linen ephod, was serving in the presence of the Lord.
Now Samuel was ministering before the Lord, as a boy wearing a linen ephod.
Now Samuel was ministering before the Lord, as a boy wearing a linen ephod.
Samuel was ministering to the Lord, a boy wearing a linen ephod.

Now Samuel was ministering with the favor of the Lord. The boy was dressed in a linen ephod.

But Samuel ministered before the Lord, even as a child, wearing a linen ephod.
Now Samuel was serving the Lord, even as a boy, wearing a linen vest.

Now Samuel was then a small boy, working in the house of the Eternal One. He wore a linen vest, one of the priestly garments.

Forsooth Samuel, a child girded with a linen cloth (a boy wearing a linen cloak), ministered before the face of the Lord.
And Samuel is ministering [in] the presence of Jehovah, a youth girt [with] an ephod of linen;
