And her adversary also provoked her sorely to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
And her rival provoked her sore, to make her fret, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.
Hannah’s rival provoked her bitterly, to irritate and embarrass her, because the Lord had left her childless.
[This embarrassed and grieved Hannah] and her rival provoked her greatly to vex her, because the Lord had left her childless.
And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
Her rival would taunt her severely just to provoke her, because the Lord had kept Hannah from conceiving.
And because the Lord had kept Hannah from conceiving, her rival would make fun of her mercilessly, just to bother her.
Her rival taunted her and made her feel bad, because Adonai had kept her from having children.
Peninnah liked to make Hannah feel miserable about not having any children,
And her adversary provoked her much also, to make her fret, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.
Her rival also afflicted her, and troubled her exceedingly, insomuch that she upbraided her, that the Lord had shut up her womb:
Peninnah always upset Hannah and made her feel bad because the Lord had not made her able to have children.
Peninnah was not kind to Hannah and she made Hannah very upset. She did this because the Lord had not let Hannah give birth to any children.
Hannah’s rival kept taunting her to make her miserable, because the Lord had kept Hannah from having children.
And her rival used to provoke her grievously to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
And her rival used to provoke her grievously to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
·Peninnah [L Her rival/foe] would ·tease [taunt] Hannah and ·upset [provoke; irritate; make fun of] her, because the Lord had ·made her unable to have children [L closed her womb].
¶ And her adversary vexed her sore, forasmuch as she upbraided her, because the Lord had made her barren.
Because the Lord had made her unable to have children, her rival ⌞Peninnah⌟ tormented her endlessly in order to make her miserable.
Peninnah, her rival, would torment and humiliate her, because the Lord had kept her childless.
Her rival would taunt her severely just to provoke her, because the Lord had kept Hannah from conceiving.
Peninnah would upset Hannah and make her feel bad. She did this because the Lord had made Hannah unable to have children.
Her rival would provoke her severely so that she complained loudly because the Lord had closed her womb.
And her rival provoked her to anger and sorrow because the LORD had shut up her womb.
And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
Her rival, however, would provoke her bitterly to irritate her because Yahweh had closed her womb.
(Now her rival wife would provoke her severely in order to upset her because Yahweh had closed her womb.)
Peninnah made matters worse by taunting Hannah because of her barrenness.
Every year this man went from his hometown up to Shiloh to worship and offer a sacrifice to God-of-the-Angel-Armies. Eli and his two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, served as the priests of God there. When Elkanah sacrificed, he passed helpings from the sacrificial meal around to his wife Peninnah and all her children, but he always gave an especially generous helping to Hannah because he loved her so much, and because God had not given her children. But her rival wife taunted her cruelly, rubbing it in and never letting her forget that God had not given her children. This went on year after year. Every time she went to the sanctuary of God she could expect to be taunted. Hannah was reduced to tears and had no appetite.
Now her rival provoked her greatly, making her miserable because the Lord had closed her womb.
Because Yahweh had made her unable to have children, her rival Peninnah tormented her endlessly in order to make her miserable.
Her rival, to upset her, would torment her constantly, since the Lord had closed her womb.
Her rival, moreover, would provoke her bitterly to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
Her rival, however, would provoke her bitterly to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
Her rival provoked her and made her miserable because the Lord had left her barren.
Peninnah would tease Hannah and upset her, because the Lord had made her unable to have children.
Her rival used to aggravate her to the point of exasperation, just to irritate her, since the Lord had not enabled her to have children.
Peninnah teased Hannah to make her angry. She did it because the Lord had kept Hannah from having children.
Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her.
Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her.
And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb.
Peninnah would try to make her very angry, because the Lord would not let her have children.
So Peninnah would taunt Hannah and make fun of her because the Lord had kept her from having children.
Her rival used to provoke her severely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
Her rival used to provoke her severely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
Her rival used to provoke her severely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
Her rival used to provoke her severely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
And her tzarah (adversary) also provoked her greatly, for to make her fret, because Hashem had shut up her womb.
And her rival used to provoke her sorely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
And her rival used to provoke her sorely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb.
Her rival would taunt her bitterly to provoke her, because Adonai had closed her womb.
Peninnah used to infuriate Hannah until Hannah trembled with irritation because the Eternal had not given Hannah children.
Her rival provoked her severely, to irritate her, because Yahweh had shut up her womb.
And (Peninnah,) her enemy tormented her, and anguished (her) greatly, in so much that she upbraided her, that the Lord had closed (up) her womb.
and her adversity hath also provoked her greatly, so as to make her tremble, for Jehovah hath shut up her womb.
