“Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and establisheth a city by iniquity!
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and establisheth a city by iniquity!
“Woe (judgment is coming) to him who builds a city with bloodshed And establishes a town by violence!
Woe to him who builds a town with blood and establishes a city by iniquity!
¶ Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!
Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and founds a town with injustice!
Pity the one building a city with bloodshed and founding a village with injustice.
“‘Woe to him who builds a city with blood and founds a town on injustice,
You're doomed! You built a city on crime and violence.
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and establisheth a city by unrighteousness!
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and prepareth a city by iniquity.
“Look at them! They kill people to build their city and do wicked things to make their walled city strong.
It will be very bad for anyone who kills people so that he can build a city for himself. It will be bad for anyone who does wicked things to make his town great.
“Woe to the one who builds a town with bloodshed and establishes a town with injustice.”
“Woe to him who builds a town with blood and founds a city on iniquity!
“Woe to him who builds a town with blood and founds a city on iniquity!
“·How terrible it will be for the nation [L Woe to him] that ·kills people [uses bloodshed] to build a city, that ·wrongs others [uses injustice] to start a town.
Woe unto him that buildeth a town with blood, and erecteth a city by iniquity.
“ ‘How horrible it will be for the one who builds a city by slaughter and founds a town by crime.’
You are doomed! You founded a city on crime and built it up by murder.
Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and founds a town with injustice!
“How terrible it will be for the nation that kills people to build a city. How terrible for that nation that wrongs others to start a town.
“Woe to the one who founds a city upon bloodshed, and constructs a city by lawlessness.
Woe to him that builds the city with blood and founds the village with iniquity!
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!

“Woe to you who build cities with money gained from murdering and robbery!
“Who do you think you are— building a town by murder, a city with crime? Don’t you know that God-of-the-Angel-Armies makes sure nothing comes of that but ashes, Makes sure the harder you work at that kind of thing, the less you are? Meanwhile the earth fills up with awareness of God’s glory as the waters cover the sea.

Ah! you who build a city by bloodshed, and who establish a town with injustice!

“How terrible it will be for the Babylonians! They build cities by spilling the blood of others. They establish towns by doing what is wrong.
