Hosea 12:3

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God.
In the womb he took his brother by the heel; and in his manhood he had power with God:
In their mother’s womb he took his brother by the heel, And in his maturity he contended with God.
He took his brother by the heel in [their mother’s] womb, and in the strength [of his manhood] he contended and had power with God.
¶ He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel, and as an adult he wrestled with God.
From the womb he tried to be the oldest of twin brothers; as an adult he struggled with God.
Adonai also has a grievance against Y’hudah; he will punish Ya‘akov according to his ways and pay him back for his misdeeds.
Even before Jacob was born, he cheated his brother, and when he grew up, he fought against God.
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and in his strength he wrestled with God.
In the womb he supplanted his brother: and by his strength he had success with an angel.
While Jacob was still in his mother’s womb, he began to trick his brother. Jacob was a strong young man, and at that time he fought with God.
Before Jacob was born, he cheated his brother. He did that when they were both inside their mother's body. When Jacob became a man, he fought against God.
In the womb Jacob grasped his brother by the heel, and when he was a grown man, he struggled with God.
In the womb he took his brother by the heel, and in his manhood he strove with God.

·Their ancestor Jacob [L He] ·held on to his brother’s heel [or struggled with/supplanted his brother] ·while the two of them were being born [L in the womb; Gen. 25:19–26]. ·When he grew to be a man [L In his strength/manhood], he ·wrestled [struggled] with God.
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God,
Their ancestor Jacob held on to his brother’s heel while the two of them were in their mother’s womb. When Jacob became a man, he struggled with God.
Their ancestor Jacob struggled with his twin brother Esau while the two of them were still in their mother's womb; when Jacob grew up, he fought against God—

He circumvented his brother in the womb, and as an adult he fought with God.
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and with his strength he overcame the angel;
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
In the womb he took his brother by the heel, And in his maturity he wrestled with God.
In the womb he deceived his brother, and in his manhood he struggled with God.
When he was born, he struggled with his brother; when he became a man, he even fought with God.
Ephraim, obsessed with god-fantasies, chases ghosts and phantoms. He tells lies nonstop, soul-destroying lies. Both Ephraim and Judah made deals with Assyria and tried to get an inside track with Egypt. God is bringing charges against Israel. Jacob’s children are hauled into court to be punished. In the womb, that heel, Jacob, got the best of his brother. When he grew up, he tried to get the best of God. But God would not be bested. God bested him. Brought to his knees, Jacob wept and prayed. God found him at Bethel. That’s where he spoke with him. God is God-of-the-Angel-Armies, God-Revealed, God-Known. * * *
