James 3:5

Even so the tongue is a little member and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a wood a little fire kindleth!
So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how much wood is kindled by how small a fire!
In the same sense, the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See [by comparison] how great a forest is set on fire by a small spark!
Even so the tongue is a little member, and it can boast of great things. See how much wood or how great a forest a tiny spark can set ablaze!
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how a small fire sets ablaze a large forest.
In the same way, even though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts wildly. Think about this: A small flame can set a whole forest on fire.
So too the tongue is a tiny part of the body, yet it boasts great things. See how a little fire sets a whole forest ablaze!
Our tongues are small too, and yet they brag about big things. It takes only a spark to start a forest fire!
Thus also the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. See how little a fire, how large a wood it kindles!
So also the tongue is a small body-part, and boastfully-declares great things. Behold how-small a fire kindles how-great a forest!
Even so the tongue is indeed a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold how small a fire kindleth a great wood.
It is the same with our tongue. It is a small part of the body, but it can boast about doing great things. A big forest fire can be started with only a little flame.
In the same way, our tongue is a very small part of our body. But it speaks as if it is very great. Think about this. A very small fire can cause even a big forest to burn completely.
So also the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it also boasts great things. Consider how a little flame can set a large forest on fire!
So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
It is the same with the tongue. It is a small ·part [member] of the body, but it ·brags [boasts] about great things. A big forest fire can be started with only a little flame.
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth of great things: behold, how great a thing a little fire kindleth.
In the same way the tongue is a small part of the body, but it can brag about doing important things. A large forest can be set on fire by a little flame.
So it is with the tongue: small as it is, it can boast about great things. Just think how large a forest can be set on fire by a tiny flame!
So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how large a forest a small fire ignites.
It is the same with the tongue. It is a small part of the body, but it brags about doing great things. A big forest fire can be started with only a little flame.
In the same way, the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it can boast of great achievements. A huge forest can be set on fire by a little flame.
We all make mistakes in all kinds of ways, but the man who can claim that he never says the wrong thing can consider himself perfect, for if he can control his tongue he can control every other part of his personality! Men control the movements of a large animal like the horse with a tiny bit placed in its mouth. Ships too, for all their size and the momentum they have with a strong wind behind them, are controlled by a very small rudder according to the course chosen by the helmsman. The human tongue is physically small, but what tremendous effects it can boast of! A whole forest can be set ablaze by a tiny spark of fire, and the tongue is as dangerous as any fire, with vast potentialities for evil. It can poison the whole body, it can make the whole of life a blazing hell.
In the same manner, the tongue is a very small member and boasts of great things. Behold, how great a forest a little fire kindles!
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. Behold how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!
So also the tongue is a small member of the body and boasts great things. Behold how small a fire sets ablaze how great a forest!
So also the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do. A great forest can be set on fire by one tiny spark.
A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell.
Even so, the tongue is a little part of the body and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles.
So also is the tongue a small member, yet it boasts of great things. See how large a forest is set on fire by such a small flame.
In the same way the tongue is a small part of the body, but it can brag about doing important things. A large forest can be set on fire by a little flame.
In the same way the tongue is a small member and yet has great pretensions. Consider how small a fire can set a huge forest ablaze.
So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!
So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!
In the same way, the tongue is a small member but its pretensions are great. Consider how a small fire can set ablaze a great forest.
It is the same with the tongue. It is a small part of the body, but it brags about great things. A big forest fire can be started with only a little flame.
So too the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it has great pretensions. Think how small a flame sets a huge forest ablaze.
In the same way, the tongue is a small part of a person’s body. But it talks big. Think about how a small spark can set a big forest on fire.
Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
The tongue is also a small part of the body, but it can speak big things. See how a very small fire can set many trees on fire.
In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.
Even so the tongue is a little member, yet boasts great things. Behold how great a thing a little fire kindles.
So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great exploits. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire!
So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great exploits. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire!
So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great exploits. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire!
So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great exploits. How great a forest is set ablaze by a such a small fire!
In the same way, the tongue is a little member but boasts great things. See how small a fire it takes to set a large forest ablaze!
So also the lashon (tongue), an evar katon (small member) speaks of RAVREVAN ("boastful things" DANIEL 7:8,20). Hinei, an eish ketanah (small fire) and yet how great a forest it can set ablaze! [Ps 12:3,4; 73:8,9]
Even so the tongue is a small member and boasts of great things. Behold how great a thing a little fire kindles.
So the tongue is a little member and boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire!
So the tongue is a little member and boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire!
So also the tongue is a small member—yet it boasts of great things. See how so small a fire sets a blaze so great a forest!
It’s just the same with our tongues! It’s a small muscle, capable of marvelous undertakings. And do you know how many forest fires begin with a single ember from a small campfire?
So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!
A person's tongue is like that. It is a small part of the body but it talks about big things. A very small fire can burn a big pile of wood!
So also the tongue is but a little member, and raiseth great things. Lo! how little fire burneth a full great wood [Lo! how much fire kindleth how great a wood].
so also the tongue is a little member, and doth boast greatly; lo, a little fire how much wood it doth kindle!
