Why have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? And their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace and look not back, for fear was round about,” saith the Lord.
Wherefore have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: terror is on every side, saith Jehovah.
“Why have I seen it? They are terrified And have turned back, And their warriors are beaten down. They take flight in haste Without looking back; Terror is on every side!” Says the Lord.

Why have I seen this? They are terrified, they are retreating, their warriors are crushed, they flee headlong, they never look back, terror is on every side! This is the Lord’s declaration.
Why do I see them terrified, retreating in haste? Their soldiers are crushed, running for cover, and they don’t turn back. Panic lurks at every turn, declares the Lord.
“Why do I see them retreating in panic, their heroes routed, fleeing headlong, not looking back, terror all around?” asks Adonai.
I can see the battle now— you are defeated and running away, never once looking back. Terror is all around.
Why do I see them dismayed, turned away back? And their mighty ones are beaten down, and take to flight, and look not back? Terror [is] on every side, saith Jehovah.
What then? I have seen them dismayed, and turning their backs, their valiant ones slain: they fled apace, and they looked not back: terror was round about, saith the Lord.
What do I see? That army is afraid. The soldiers are running away. Their brave soldiers are defeated. They run away in a hurry. They don’t look back. There is danger all around.” This is what the Lord said.
The Lord says, ‘But I see this: The soldiers are afraid and they are running away! They cannot win the fight. Terror is everywhere around them. They do not turn to look behind them. They run away as fast as they can.
But what do I see? They are terrified. They are turning back. Their warriors are beaten. They are fleeing without looking back. There is terror on every side! declares the Lord.

The Message to Egypt and the army of Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt at the time it was defeated by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon while camped at Carchemish on the Euphrates River in the fourth year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah: “‘Present arms! March to the front! Harness the horses! Up in the saddles! Battle formation! Helmets on, spears sharpened, armor in place!’ But what’s this I see? They’re scared out of their wits! They break ranks and run for cover. Their soldiers panic. They run this way and that, stampeding blindly. It’s total chaos, total confusion, danger everywhere!” God’s Decree.

What do I see? Are they panicking, falling apart? Their warriors are hammered back, They flee headlong never making a stand. Terror on every side— oracle of the Lord!

What therefore? I saw them dreadful, either afeared, and turning the(ir) backs, the strong men of them (be) slain; and they fled swiftly, and beheld not; dread was on each side, saith the Lord.
