Jeremiah 9:6
Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know Me,” saith the Lord.

“Therefore,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot, “I will refine them and test them. What else can I do with the daughter of my people?
Everyone takes advantage of everyone else, and no one will admit that I am God.

One bad thing followed another, and lies followed lies. The people refused to know me.” This is what the Lord said.
They hurt and they deceive each other. They do that more and more. They refuse to respect me.’ That is what the Lord says.
You, Jeremiah, live in the midst of deception! In their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me, declares the Lord.

They all mislead their friends, and no one tells the truth; they have taught their tongues to lie and will not give up their sinning. They do one violent thing after another, and one deceitful act follows another. The Lord says that his people reject him.
You live in a world of deception. In their deception they refuse to know Me. This is the Lord’s declaration.
Jeremiah, you live in the middle of evil. And lies follow lies. The people have refused to know me,” says the Lord.

They advance from one evil to the next, ignorant of me.” God’s Decree. “Be wary of even longtime neighbors. Don’t even trust your grandmother! Brother schemes against brother, like old cheating Jacob. Friend against friend spreads malicious gossip. Neighbors gyp neighbors, never telling the truth. They’ve trained their tongues to tell lies, and now they can’t tell the truth. They pile wrong upon wrong, stack lie upon lie, and refuse to know me.” God’s Decree.
