By His Spirit He hath garnished the heavens; His hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
By his Spirit the heavens are garnished; His hand hath pierced the swift serpent.

Due to his wind, heaven became clear; his hand split the fleeing serpent.
With his Spirit he spreads the heavens; his hand pierces the fleeing serpent.
The heavens became bright when he breathed, and the escaping sea monster died at his hands.
By his Spirit the heavens are adorned; his hand hath formed the fleeing serpent.
His spirit hath adorned the heavens, and his obstetric hand brought forth the winding serpent.
His breath made the skies clear. His hand destroyed the snake that tried to get away.
He used his breath to make the sky become bright. With his hand he cut the great sea snake as it ran away.
By his breath the skies became beautiful. His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

He breathes, and ·the sky clears [L he makes the heavens beautiful]. His hand ·stabs [slays] the fleeing ·snake [serpent; C Leviathan, another sea monster representing chaos; 3:8; Is. 27:1].

It is his breath that made the sky clear, and his hand that killed the escaping monster.
By His breath the heavens gained their beauty; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
God breathes, and the sky becomes clear. God’s hand stabs the gliding snake.
He clears the skies with his wind; his hands have pierced the fleeing serpent.
By his spirit he has adorned the heavens; his hand has formed the fleeing serpent.

“All the buried dead are in torment, and all who’ve been drowned in the deep, deep sea. Hell is ripped open before God, graveyards dug up and exposed. He spreads the skies over unformed space, hangs the earth out in empty space. He pours water into cumulus cloud-bags and the bags don’t burst. He makes the moon wax and wane, putting it through its phases. He draws the horizon out over the ocean, sets a boundary between light and darkness. Thunder crashes and rumbles in the skies. Listen! It’s God raising his voice! By his power he stills sea storms, by his wisdom he tames sea monsters. With one breath he clears the sky, with one finger he crushes the sea serpent. And this is only the beginning, a mere whisper of his rule. Whatever would we do if he really raised his voice!”
