“As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment, and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my right, And the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul
“As God lives, who has taken away my right and denied me justice, And the Almighty, who has caused bitterness and grief for my soul,
As God lives, Who has taken away my right and denied me justice, and the Almighty, Who has vexed and embittered my life,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
As God lives, who has deprived me of justice, and the Almighty who has made me bitter,
As God lives, who rejected my legal claim, the Almighty, who made me bitter,
“I swear by the living God, who is denying me justice, and by Shaddai, who deals with me so bitterly,
I am desperate because God All-Powerful refuses to do what is right. As surely as God lives,
[As] God liveth, who hath taken away my right, and the Almighty, who hath embittered my soul,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment, and the Almighty, who hath brought my soul to bitterness,
“God All-Powerful has been unfair to me; he has made my life bitter. But I swear by his life,
‘Almighty God has not been fair to me. He has caused my life to be very sad. As surely as he lives, I promise this:
As God lives, he has deprived me of justice. The Almighty has made my life bitter.
“As God lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,
“As God lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,
“·As surely as God lives [By the living God], who has ·taken away [turned aside] my rights, ·the Almighty [Shaddai], who has made me ·unhappy [bitter],
The living God hath taken away my judgment: for the Almighty hath put my soul in bitterness.
“I swear an oath by God, the one who has taken away my rights, by the Almighty, who has made my life bitter:
I swear by the living Almighty God, who refuses me justice and makes my life bitter—
As God lives, who has deprived me of justice, and the Almighty who has made me bitter,
“As surely as God lives, he has taken away my rights. God All-Powerful has made me unhappy.
“The living God has withheld justice from me; the Almighty has made my life bitter.
As God lives, who has taken away my rights; and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
“As God lives, who has removed my justice, And the Almighty, who has embittered my soul,
“As God lives, he has removed my justice, and Shaddai has made my inner self bitter.
“I vow by the living God, who has taken away my rights, even the Almighty God who has embittered my soul,
Having waited for Zophar, Job now resumed his defense: “God-Alive! He’s denied me justice! God Almighty! He’s ruined my life! But for as long as I draw breath, and for as long as God breathes life into me, I refuse to say one word that isn’t true. I refuse to confess to any charge that’s false. There is no way I’ll ever agree to your accusations. I’ll not deny my integrity even if it costs me my life. I’m holding fast to my integrity and not loosening my grip— and, believe me, I’ll never regret it.
“As God lives, who has taken away my judgment, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,
“I swear an oath by El, the one who has taken away my rights, by Shadday, who has made my life bitter:
As God lives, who takes away my right, the Almighty, who has made my life bitter,
“As God lives, who has taken away my right, And the Almighty, who has embittered my soul,
“As God lives, who has taken away my right, And the Almighty, who has embittered my soul,
“I swear by the living God who has denied me justice, and by the Almighty who has filled my soul with bitterness,
“As surely as God lives, who has taken away my rights, the Almighty, who has made me unhappy,
“As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made my life bitter—
“God hasn’t treated me fairly. The Mighty One has made my life bitter. You can be sure that God lives. And here’s something else you can be sure of.
“As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made my life bitter,
‘As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made my life bitter,
“As God lives, who has taken away my justice, And the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,
“As God lives, Who has taken away my right, and the All-powerful, Who has troubled my soul,
“I vow by the living God, who has taken away my rights, by the Almighty who has embittered my soul—
‘As God lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,

As El liveth, Who hath taken away my mishpat, and Shaddai, Who hath saddened my nefesh;
